Accessibility
The target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This statement says what has actually been checked rather than what we hope is true.
What is built in
- Every colour pair is measured against its floor in both light and dark and the build fails below it.
- The focus indicator is a two-tone ring that clears 3:1 against every background on the site, proved by arithmetic rather than by spot checks.
- Progress is plain text, never an unlabelled bar.
- Errors appear in a summary that takes focus, and each one says what to do rather than what went wrong.
- Nothing is carried by colour alone. Every wash has a second cue that survives forced-colours mode.
- Motion respects a reduced-motion preference, and there is no ambient motion anywhere.
- No value is asked for twice, and help sits in the same place on every screen.
- There is no session timeout, so there are no timeout warnings.
What has not been verified yet
Being honest about this is more useful than a conformance claim. Four checks are outstanding: reflow to 320px with no two-dimensional scrolling, the text-spacing overrides, forced-colours mode on every wash, and 200% zoom. Screen-reader passes with NVDA and JAWS are also outstanding; the component library's own manual testing covers VoiceOver only, which is the smallest of the three by share.
Note also that a visible-focus construction this strong satisfies SC 2.4.13, which is Level AAA rather than AA. We build to it because it costs nothing, not because AA requires it.
