Your answers stay in your browser. The questionnaire runs there, the files are built there and the download is assembled there. Nothing you type is sent to us, with one exception that happens only if you press the button.

If you make a share link

Pressing Make a share link sends your answers to us once and stores them under a random twenty-four-character address. The addresses are not listed anywhere and cannot be guessed, so the link is the key: anyone holding it can read your answers and the files built from them. Treat it like a password.

The link stops working twenty-four hours after you make it. After that your answers cannot be reached through it, by us or by anyone. You can end it sooner: open the link and choose Delete this now, which removes what we hold straight away.

While the link is live, we can read what we hold. We do not look at it, we attach no name, account or email address to it and we keep no record of the link being used beyond the ordinary web server log, which holds the address and not the answers. We store it because you asked for a link and a link cannot exist without it. If you never press the button, nothing you type reaches us.

If you hand the link to an AI assistant, that assistant fetches your answers and its provider then holds whatever it fetched. From there, their policy applies.

What we store

No account, and no log of your answers. Your progress is held in the address bar, after the #, which browsers never send to a server. Two things are kept on your own device and never sent anywhere. One is your half-finished answers, if you agree to that when asked. The other is your answer to the analytics notice, so it stops asking.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets them, and nothing else does. They record that a browser has been here before, so that two visits from you are not counted as two people. Turning analytics off removes the reason for them.

Analytics

We count page views with Google Analytics and it is on unless you turn it off. It is here to show which pages get read. Nothing is sold here and your answers are never part of it: it records the page address, not what you typed.

The advert

Every page here carries one advert served by Google AdSense (ADR-0050), the question pages included. Google uses cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure it, under the consent choices its dialog offers.

The advert at the foot of every page is ours. It points at img-genius.com, another site the same people run. It is a plain picture served from this site: no ad network, no third-party script, no tracking pixel, and no cookie. Nobody bids on you to put it there, and nothing about you is sent anywhere when it loads.

Clicking it takes you to img-genius.com with a tag on the address saying you came from here, so that we can count the clicks. That tag says which site sent you, and nothing about who you are.

The tag is loaded late on purpose, once the page has finished painting, because it is larger than this entire site and we would rather you got the words first. One consequence is worth stating: if you arrive and leave within a second or two, you may not be counted at all.

Two things are worth being straight about. It is on before you choose, rather than after, which we chose deliberately. And although the requests go to this site rather than to a Google address, Google still receives the data. The routing only changes where your browser sends it. The notice at the foot of the page turns it off in one click and that takes effect immediately rather than on the next page.

If you report a problem

The report form at the foot of every page sends what you typed into it, the address of the page you were on and your browser's name (its user-agent string). Nothing else: never your questionnaire answers, and never your IP address. Reports are stored for up to ninety days while a person reads and acts on them, then deleted. If you put personal details in the text of a report, we treat them as part of the report and delete them with it. When report notifications are switched on, a copy of the report is relayed to us by Resend, an email service, and deleted from their systems per their retention policy. The stored copy stays here.

The files you download

They are yours. We assert no ownership of them and keep no copy. If a file turns out to be wrong, the person named as its owner changes it. That person is you.
